Barbara Morrison Shaug

I married my high school sweetheart who graduated from Glacier a year ahead of me. We would have celebrated our 54th Wedding Anniversary in January of this year.

He had open heart surgery on June 5, a quadruple bypass. He had several complications after the surgery and lost over 60 pounds. In November he was finally starting to feel better and stronger, but on January 2nd he had a heart event that required CPR. He was put in intensive care on a ventilator with severe pulmonary hypertension and pneumonia, and passed away on January 6

He was my high school sweetheart, my soulmate. We would have been married 54 years on January 23.

It was November 22, 1963. I was sitting in Mr Emery's Shorthand Class when we got the news that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Everyone was in disbelief...so shocked and sad. Mr Emery too...he was standing at the head of the class with tears in his eyes. I'll never forget that image of him on that day.
