Betty Weiks Rickard

Getting ready to retire in June. I graduated from North Pacific Medical and Dental College in 1967. I worked as dental assistant for several years.After raising our four boys, I earned my teaching credential and special education endorsement in 1989, my masters in special education in 1995, and received board certification in 2005. I have enjoyed working with children all these years and look forward to what is in store in the future. I am still active in drama and music in community theater and with the Candle Stick players. I have just finished a drama production and look forward to each new role.

Most of my favorite memories are from the drama productions I was part of. For example, when I played Nellie in South Pacific, the stage crew got two bags mixed up back stage and left me with a bag of rags on stage that was supposed to be my laundry. I had to think on my feet and change my line from "Oh, Billis, you even ironed the pleats in my shorts, " to "Oh Billis, you even ironed the rips in my shorts!"
