Eddie Roberts

November 3, 1945 - November 27, 2019

This information was provided by classmate Gary Soriano.

Eddie passed way from cancer.  He is survived by his wife Dawn, children Julia and Eddie Jr. and two grandchildren.

Eddie had a full and happy life.  This month, November 2019, he was inducted into the Waterski Hall of Fame in Orlando, Florida, but could not attend due to his illness.  Eddie and I have been best friends since meeting at Lake Burien Elementary School in the 6th grade.

What an honor to be inducted into the Waterski Hall of Fame. Many folks in the PNW enjoyed the sport (most of us in our younger days.) RIP, Eddie.

When we were 12, both Eddie & I sold Spudnuts door-to-door. In addition to getting paid for each dozen donuts sold, we completed for a prize for the most packages sold over a period of time.  The prize was a transistor radio, a high value item in 1957.  Eddie & I were neck-and-neck in most packages sold coming to the end of the competition. Eddie must have been a better salesman than me; he won the transistor radio, and I came in 2nd.

R.I.P., Eddie.

RIP Eddie!

Eddie and I meant on the football field as ninth graders. He hit me harder than I have ever been hit, breaking three facets off of my 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae. We didn't officially meet until after the game, We became freinds whose paths crossed many times over the past 60 years. Eddie was a fierce competitor, a great athelete and most of all a cherished freind. I'll miss you brother.

Very sad to hear about Eddie's passing.  He and I were good friends in 2nd and 3rd grades,we walked to Lake Burien Elementary together, often.  Eddie always remembered my birthday, for some reason, and never missed a chance to send birthday wises.  I did not hear from him this year, however, perhaps his illness was the reason?  I remember seeing Eddie and Ed Sr. waterskiing down at Hurstwood Beach when we were in high school; both of them were amazing skiers!  From time-to time during the 80's/90's I would see Eddie and his buddies skiing on one of the slalom courses on Lake Sammamish.  I will alway have fond memories of Eddie, he was one of the first kids I became friends with after my family moved to Burien.  May he rest in peace.
