Comments:

Funny, I hated school. In 1980 I lived in Bishop, Ca, and Tim was starting kindergarten. The school needed a playground person. That's where the career started. It was great because I had the same vacations.
Moved all around, but always had a school related job. In 1985 I moved close to Auburn, Ca. 1987 my husband was killed in a car accident. The Instructional Assistant was the perfect job; I was off when the kids were off.
Whem I worked for Placer County Office of Education, I worked with mentally and physically fragile children. I left there and in 2001 went to work for a high school district. Last year I worked with "at risk" students; juvenile deliquents and kids that just didn't fit into the comprehensive school system. I got laid off in June, so went to another high school that has medically fragile students. These students will forever live in a group home setting, but some are capable of keeping a checkbook etc. It's not my favorite job, but in these hard times, at least I have a job!
And medical insurance.
I have decided that if I get laid off again this year because of funding, I will hang up my chalk board eraser and retire!
I have not been back to Seattle since about 1972. I've lived in Phoenix and various places in California.
Married Bob in 1994. He is retired from heavy equipment operating.
In my spare time, I watch my two grandkids (from Jason). Rylie is 5 1/2 and just started kindergarten. Caden is 3 1/2. They school system had to cancel the preschool program that he would have attended this year.
My hobbies include reading, quilting and jewelry making. The quilting and jewelry making are expensive hobbies, but oh well. They keep me off the streets and out of the bars. ;-))
Having grown up in Seattle, I do not like the hot weather here in Ca. Winters are much better for me.
The only reason I'm not able to come to the reunion is that we have too many animals. My husband leaves for Montana on 10/21 and it's too expensive to board all the dogs and cats.
We have two acres in Loomis - about 30 minutes from Sacramento and a little over 100 miles to Reno.
I would love to live in a retirement community, but it's not going to happen any time soon.

School Story:

Didn't some jocks put a VW up on a curb or something?
The only other funny thing I remember is someone putting a soaking wet sponge on Mr. McKinney's chair in Science class at Seahurst Jr. High.
Don't exactly know how I would describe her, but anyone remember Miss Richardson (?) the typing teacher at Highline? She was something else.
